Next Generation Lithium Technology
The NG (Next Generation) series builds upon the success of the Lithium Smart series with significant enhancements. These batteries feature individual cell voltage and temperature readouts, improved communication between batteries and BMS, and IP65 protection — making them ideal for demanding off-grid, marine, and backup power applications.
Integrated Shunt
Battery data (voltage, current, and temperature) is transmitted to the BMS and evaluated to calculate state of charge. This information can be read out via VictronConnect or a GX communication centre, and used to create specific warnings and alarms.
Automatic Setup and Monitoring
All battery parameters are managed by the BMS automatically. The BMS detects system voltage and the number of batteries in parallel, series, or series/parallel connections. Monitoring and control take place via VictronConnect (Bluetooth), a GX device, or the VRM Portal. View cell status, cell voltages, battery current, and temperatures in real-time. Battery firmware is automatically updated by the BMS.
Easy Bracket Mounting
Mounting brackets make installation easier and ensure the battery is optimally secured against slipping and tipping over. The battery can be mounted upright or on its side — but not with terminals facing down.
IP65 Ingress Protection
Effectively sealed against dust and can withstand low-pressure water jets. Suitable for environments where exposure to dust and water is a concern — ideal for marine, RV, and outdoor installations.
Low Self-Discharge Rate
Maximum 2% self-discharge per month at 25°C, significantly improved from previous models. Contributes to overall performance, longevity, and reliability.
Integrated Cell Balancing and Monitoring
The battery has integrated cell balancing and cell monitoring. The cell balancing/monitoring cables can be daisy-chained and must be connected to a Victron Battery Management System (BMS).
Battery Management System (BMS) Functions
- Generates a pre-alarm when cell voltage decreases below 3.0V
- Disconnects or shuts down load when cell voltage decreases below 2.8V
- Stops charging when cell voltage exceeds 3.6V or temperature is too high/low
